KILN HOUSING
In 2010 we worked closely with Carl Gray, a local potter with a growing reputation, on his new kiln and timber seasoning housing in Wales. Carl has recently purchased woods in the locality which will provide him with all the timber required to fire his kiln for years to come.
The housing will be built by Carl himself (with a few helpers but with minimal use of power tools) and as a result, manageable standard timber sections, simple bolt connections and lightweight materials have been specified.
Any spoil generated by digging the foundations will be spread across the site and locally procured slate waste will provide a working floor within the housing.
